1. Choose a format your destination accepts
| Format | A good starting point for | What to remember |
|---|---|---|
| JPG | Photos, product images and everyday uploads | Does not preserve transparency. WORDMIO fills transparent areas with white. |
| PNG | Logos, screenshots and transparent graphics | Often larger for photos. The quality slider does not affect PNG output. |
| WebP | Images on websites that accept WebP | Supports transparency. Some upload forms require JPG or PNG instead. |
2. Set a maximum file size
Enter the limit requested by your destination. For example, choose 200 KB for a form that accepts images under 200 KB. WORDMIO uses decimal units: 1 KB is 1,000 bytes and 1 MB is 1,000,000 bytes.
For JPG and WebP, the quality setting is your starting ceiling. When you set a file size limit, the tool can lower quality down to 35% to try to meet it. The final file size is checked after export.
If the result is still too large, you will see an “Over size limit” label. Enable “Reduce dimensions if needed” and process again, increase the limit, or try another accepted format. Some combinations of dimensions, format and file size cannot be achieved while preserving useful detail.
3. Resize without changing the shape
Open “Dimensions & quality”, then enter a maximum width, height, or both. A 2,000 × 1,000 image fitted into a 1,000 × 1,000 box becomes 1,000 × 500. The tool preserves its proportions and never enlarges an image above its original dimensions.
This is a fit operation: it does not crop or add padding to force an exact shape. If a form requires an exact aspect ratio, use Crop & rotate before selecting it here.
4. Inspect your result
Select “Compare” after processing to see the original and processed image side by side. Switch to “Compare slider” and drag the divider to inspect the two versions in the same view. Check small text, fine lines, hair and sharp edges. These are useful places to spot a loss of detail.
The file can sometimes become larger when changing formats. The result always shows the actual change. Your original file remains unchanged.
5. Download one image or the whole batch
Choose “Download” beside an image, or “Download all as ZIP” for the processed files. Matching filenames receive a number inside the ZIP so one image cannot overwrite another. Files that failed to process are excluded, and their error messages stay visible.
Bring images together in a PDF
Open Images to PDF, select your JPG, PNG or WebP files, and arrange them with the earlier/later arrows. One image becomes one page. Choose A4 or US Letter, or fit each page to the image. Auto orientation chooses portrait or landscape for each image.
Margins can be none, 0.25 inch or 0.5 inch. The tool fits images inside the page without cropping or stretching. Transparent areas become white. Images are encoded as high-quality JPG with up to 4,096 pixels per side, so inspect fine text before printing.
Select “Create PDF”, then “Download PDF”. This produces an image-based PDF; text inside photos or scans is not made searchable or selectable. For existing documents, use Merge PDF or Split PDF. These organize pages; they do not edit text, compress PDFs or add OCR.
Limits and troubleshooting
You can select up to 20 images, with a maximum of 20 MB each and 100 MB per batch. Decoded images must be no larger than 40 megapixels or 16,000 pixels per side. If your phone struggles with a batch, try fewer images at a time.
Use JPG, PNG or WebP files. HEIC, SVG and GIF are not supported by the image workspace. For existing PDFs, use Merge PDF or Split PDF. Animated WebP files are exported as a single still image. Support for exporting WebP depends on your browser; try JPG or PNG if an export is unavailable.
Refreshing or closing the page clears the workspace. Download your results before leaving.
